photohunter7iq1.jpg

Finally!

We are currently riding HIGH. Finally, it's Daryl's high school graduation. He graduated last March 28, 2008 and he is in the top 5 of the class. He had also received awards such as Best in English and Best in EP.

We are currently feeling HIGH.  He did not fail us.  Check this out to have a peek of all of the graduation photos and where I treated them after the program.

Photohunt is giving me a HIGH feeling , too. Every Saturday is a challenge.

Let Us Not Forget About the News

Local News

Do you know that it always makes me unhappy to hear news about the Philippines? Here’s another – even Yahoo Asia News Philippines has this disadvantageous headlines. Only one of them seemed like good news but it’s good news only to a limited fragment of the country.

Philippines to get own Playboy, but no nudes

MANILA (AFP) - The Philippines will get its own edition of Playboy magazine -- only without the nudity that made the US version famous, the editor-in-chief of the local edition said Thursday.

The Philippine edition will be launched on April 2 as a "mature lifestyle magazine", said veteran journalist Beting Laygo Dolor. While the magazine will offer pictorials of beautiful women, it will not include nudity. "It will be tamer than the US edition but not as tame as the Indonesian edition," Lagyo Dolor said in a television interview. (more…)

How can this one bit of news rectify the damaging truth in the following list of news in the Philippines this week?

Are You Ready?

I am actually not a lover of gambling though I know the basics. Teach me and I can even beat you. I do not have difficulty learning this feat, if you can call it that. I am not an enthusiast but I know how to play mah jong, pusoy, pusoy 2, tong-its, to name a few. It (the addiction) just didn’t get into my system.Thank God. :-)

Because I believe in my self-assessment when it comes to learning without that much difficulty, I know that online casino games will not be hard to learn at all. I find it amusing that this particular site even offers online gambling tips. To wrap it up, here they are:

  1. Do not simply jump in and play at every casino you like the look of.

  2. Do not take the bait of just simply depositing hiuge amounts of money. Use their demo games and welcome bonus to get the most out of your time.

  3. Learn when to stop, win or loose, and take a breather.

  4. Learn when you're beat.

  5. Start on low bet games only.

  6. Play only online games that you know very well.

Photohunt: Metal

tahoooo.jpg

This is all I can contribute for today's Photohunt theme. It is a taho container (made of silver-white aluminum) brought along by taho vendors while calling on customers in various pitches of 'Tahoooo!!!!" For the benefit of those who do not know what a taho is, here is feature from Wikipedia:

Tahô is a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft/silken tofu, arnibal (brown sugar syrup), and sago "pearls" (similar to tapioca pearls).[1] This staple comfort food is a signature sweet and can be found all over the country. The Indonesian and Malaysian equivalent of this dish is Tahu.[2]

Enjoy your taho, I mean your photohunting, folks!

Is Your Credit Still Good?

Aside from pondering about life’s mysteries and realities this Lenten season (and which had offered us a four-day respite from the mediocrity of it all), the holiday gave me time to think about my reputation on solvency and probity. I believe that I, because of an inner voice not to be, am still honest when it comes to payment of debts. In believing, I have to maintain my ability to pay all debts and financial obligations. Sometimes it’s a difficult situation, considering the fact that I bear the sole responsibility when it comes to these matters. When resources are ample it will surely not be a problem at all. But life is hard for me, for now, with some expectations not materializing and some big dreams not coming in full view.

Insatiable

Genetic Disorder

As I was watching CSI on DVD, a case featured a man found dead in a hamper with mashed potatoes in his hand, with 20+ kilos of hotdog in his stomach, and even a piece of paper in his stomach about a buffet offer. The man was found to have Prader-Willi syndrome. His behavior of insatiable hunger gave the clue to find out why he had odd eating behaviors.

Prader-Willi syndrome is a genetic disorder of chromosome 15. There are many sites that give explanation and support to those afflicted and to their family. Prader-Willi Syndrome Association is one of these sites. It mentioned things about PWS:

Ashop Commerce

Two friends are talking about doing business online.

Friend A: Why don’t you try an ecommerce software like Ashop?

Friend B: Ecommerce software? Is that the same as a shopping cart software a friend told me the other day?

Touched by an Angel...

daryl.jpg

Me? I'm just, well, ME.
And, if you want to know me, PRY deeper.

I am not perfect. But, no one's perfect, after all.
And that's the beauty in humanity, that there's no perfection.
If there ever is perfection, then life would be dull.

Photo Hunt: I Spy

photohunter7iq1.jpg

PhotoHunt's theme today gave me a hard time. It's a good thing I saw this picture of little kids in my daughter's university one Sunday morning while we were jogging. The kids were practicing soccer. It really amazed me to see them follow a discipline of waking up early on a Sunday to practice! A question also hung inside my head that time if the kids were really that willing to play, to practice, and endure the difficulty of the game. Amazing kids!

Loyalty or Efficiency?

4post.jpg

If Dneero would ask me to contribute a survey, I will submit one where participants would only include company owners, entrepreneurs, or businesspersons. My survey would include this question:

Which do you value most in an employee - loyalty or efficiency?

Let's say I am the owner of a company (no harm dreaming :-D one day, who knows?), I would readily choose efficiency over loyalty.

Better Late Than Nevah

Lazarus and Mitch, my apologies. Here's my take but I won't be tagging anyone. :-D

From Lazarus

I had done the High Five Meme before but I cannot find it, Lazarus.

Done 9 out of 35 - Yey!

1. Start at 'start copy here'.
2. Put an X on the things you've done.
3. Tag how-many-[X]s people.
4. Post with title "I've done ___*how-many-[X]* of 35 stupid things".

Photohunt: Different

Choose the Different

photohunter7iq1.jpg

I know it's obvious. :-)

For this week's Photohunt theme, I took pictures of the newly born kittens, and one of them has a different color than the rest. Experimented with Adobe Photo, too.
