Dress Your Age

Dresses in the 1920s

One does not need to have that much money to be in fashion. And being in fashion does not mean you have to dress the latest revealing cut not considering your age. A man and a woman can be fashionable with age without being vulgar. One has to consider, as he/she ages the color, the cut and the style that will suit her/his age.

Take for example, a woman in her forties, wearing a dress with a low neckline can be ok provided that a necklace should coordinate the dress. That would tone down the 'hottie' look. If she has 'bilbil' (bulges), why would she wear a hanging tee that would reveal them? So awkward, and yuckie.

Of course, it's nobody's business what style, cut, and color of dress a mature woman or man wants. But I think it matters a lot to the people that they associate with, or encounter, how they look like.

It's pretty ironic how the girls in the 1920s are clad in apparels that looked to me unseemly. They all looked like they are not young girls. While this 61 year old Filipina bared herself with all the bulges. Keeping up with the times?

  1. OMG, ha ha ha! Shocking Auring. Women who think they can deceive people about their (old) age by the way they dress actually make fools of themselves. Nakakawala ng respeto.

  4. i saw my mom's pic when she was still in college. The uniform skirt is above the knees, para mini na. It's different pala nuon in the 70s. bawal na ang ganun in most schools ngayon.

Fashion is a different thing to different people. Others are just weird.

  5. nawalan ka ba ng gana, mr HB he he?

i noticed that, bugsy, how people respect women particularly by the way they dress, and act their age. :-)

    really gross, 'no, verns?

kakatuwa ang ilong na niretoke. noticed that, mon, na ang mga niretokeng ilong ay nagpapakita ng signs pagkatapos ng ilang panahon he he, either nakausli na yung silicon at parang lalabas na sa skin, or deformed.

others are just weird, lazarus. some would try to look weird or different to tell others that they can afford, or they belong to a higher class, and end up looking like fools. me binabagayan kasi. :-) yun ang di nila alam.

  6. I do agree with you. I prefer that everyone dress accordingly to their age. It's not that I am old-fashioned but sometimes, when you are not of that age anymore, you ought to know that certain clothings are not suitable.

  14. From a man's perspective, there's a certain
sexiness in mature women. Nothing obscene
with Madam Auring's picture as long as her
skin isn't hanging loose on her elbows like
an emaciated survivor of a shipwreck :)

  15. i hope you clicked on the link, wil ; ;! the more you want to avoid, the more na mamamagnet ka he he :-D

oo nga, shari , age is all in the mind DAW. he he :-D

well.. ah.. hmm... no skin hanging loose because she's plump, bw... if i am the man with that view, i would find mature women sexy not with the way they look but the way they carry themselves and the way they think. but that's just me. :-)

  22. Ang lakas naman ng loob ni Madame Auring. LOL.

Two weeks ago, I saw a Swiss lady in her 80's wearing a red mini skirt, high heels, and thick makeup. Naka pony tail pa siya to boot! Hindi bagay. LOL.
