I am just curious. Are you ok with body piercing? I find it sometimes cute to see others with body piercings but I will not subject myself to such a fad. I don’t even think it is fashionable.
One time while I was eating lunch at our favorite canteen, I saw a tongue piercing while R* was talking. I wondered if it made eating difficult for him. So far, I had observed it didn’t affect his speech.
I have to say it adds something to a person’s persona. It made me infer that this guy probably has a rebellious nature, or has a different taste in fashion. Perhaps it is also a statement.
Neither am I crazy over piercings or body arts. I just love simplicity. Heck, I don't even have any.

I don't like body piercings. I'm conservative. Hehe. Incidentally, I also have the same topic on my recent post. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteNo, not a big fan either. Except for the ears, that's all I'll ever allow my daughter to pierce.
ReplyDeleteit could be an alternative body fashion, or a statement that one is different. but i'm not a fan of body piercings.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so much into body piercings, but I do respect the 'fashion statement' of people who love them (my artist-cousin included).
ReplyDeleteIsn't it that one is prone to various infections if, say, they have a piercing in their tongue or nose?
hi, kyels. i agree that simplicity is better. no hazzles. :-)
ReplyDeleteah, yeah, nico, you're conservative... he he
me, too, leah, it is only the necessary body piercing that can be allowed. though i find it cute seeing some people with body piercings.
palagay ko, lazarus, di talaga patok sa nakararaming pinoy ang body piercing.
read it from a site about the possibility of getting infection sa mouth, jayred. there are a number of cases na rin but people still want to have tongue and nose piercing. i was shocked to see a picture of an infected tongue in the net because of body piercing.
Mostly young people are into piercing and tatoos. I'm not quite clear on why someone would pierce his tongue unless on a mission to reduce food intake :)
ReplyDeleteIt really looks silly to me but again, it's fashion statement much like our parents abhored the way we dressed. Now it's our turn to get pissed - it's a vicious cycle I guess :)
tattoos, like body piercings, are cute if not too much. sometimes, to me, it does not look good anymore if it covers almost the entire body. parang marumi tingnan, bw.
ReplyDeletethey say that those who get a lot of body piercings or tatoos have been hurt in the past (childhood or what-have-you) by someone. By getting these piercings or tatoos, they are controlling who is doing the hurting --- and that is themselves. Needless to say, they have issues. But if it's just one or two piercings, then it's probably not as bad.
ReplyDeletei think many would not agree about that perception, wil. maybe true to some but not to everybody.
ReplyDeleteit is a great idea, btw, for a survey - to know if their piercings and tattoos are production of a sad past. :-)
Ha ha! I may sound old-fashioned pero ayoko kasi mukhang masakit. Each time I find someone with piercings in places that I didn't imagine (okay lang ang ears and nose kasi parang conventional na yun) ... tongue, navel, eyebrow ... I can't help but cringe in pain, aray ko po!
ReplyDeleteOkay lang yun sakin.
ReplyDeleteha ha para ngang ang sakit, 'no, bugsy. i once heard from a friend that a body ring on the nose is a sign of slavery in the old times.
ReplyDeleteok lang sa yo, mon? do you have one? :-D
I must say those with body piercings are also brave and adventurous and would push themselves to the limit just to show it. But jeez - never would I subject myself to it. Eh, ang ear piercings ko nga - noong 30 years old na ako! haha!
ReplyDeleteI also made clear to my children: no body piercings. :)
in my line of work, i see body piercing a lot... in the tongue, on the nose, on the lip... etc... eeewww... just by looking at it hurts me already. :-)
ReplyDeleteaside from my left/right ear piercing, i have another ear piercing on the left. other than that, ive no other body piercings. though ive always wanted to have my belly pierced, i opted not to since ive no plans of exposing my belly anyways. why should i have it pierced if i cant show it anyways? hehe. i think piercings are statements. may binabagayan sya. meron yung iba kaya nilang dalhin, meron yung iba mukha silang ewan.
ReplyDelete3o years old ka na when you had it, rhodora? what made you decide to have it? :-) i agree they are adventurous people.
ReplyDeletehi, jo! what's your line of work? why are there so many 'pierced species' there he he?
ha ha natawa naman ako dun, chelsea. 'nga naman, why would you have a belly pierce if you cant dare expose your belly. nonsense, 'no? ha ha yung iba mukha silang ewan ha ha
i have always wanted to get pierced at one end of my right eyebrow. never got the courage to have it done, tho.
ReplyDeletehi, duke. i find it cute seeing people pierced at one end of their eyebrow. a unique statement that is. :-)
