A Sarah Palin gift?

Do you remember Sarah Palin? She was a 2008 Republican nominee for Vice Presidency in America. She was considered a potential candidate for the 2012 presidential election but announced last October 2011 that she would not run.

We cannot tell what will happen next but if you are a believer or an avid fan of Palin, you can consider buying a sarah palin 2012 shirt, or a bumper sticker, or a post card.

As it is not possible for me to be supporting Sarah Palin because I am not an American and does not live in America, I could only watch from afar what will happen next.  If there are people who puts up movements and create products that show support to Palin, we can never tell if her decision not to run is final.

Cable Covers

Cable management is important.  With today's need for cables and the like, cable covers are necessities.  They protect loose cables, cover wire runs, or shield lots of cables.

Cable covers have varieties, too.  There are translucent covers that are perfect for decorative accompaniment.  There are transparent ones , too.  These covers are also helpful in tidying up areas with lots of cords, or covering the exposed cords on the floor.

In a Grocery Store Where Mendicants Are

Puregold Balintawak opened today.

The grocery store is big.  The prices are lower.  The most important thing is it is very near our house.

I can't help but notice though, and this is without judgment, that even the mendicants are allowed inside.  I say they are mendicants because they are dirty all over and their clothes are soiled.  I know, I can still be hated and possible to be branded judgmental.  But who would with their sane minds go to a grocery store all dirty?

Even mendicants, of course, can go buy in a grocery store. What I do not like is their children are unruly and they were running all over the place.  Possible accidents can happen especially at the elevator.

Papsie told the lady guard to prevent them from running to and fro on the elevator and the she seemed not to know what to do.  They simply do not care at all.

Crossing my fingers that the store will last.

A Glass Tile as Pendant

Have you tried a glass tile as pendant?  I haven't.

An oval tile, for example, flat back, non-magnifying and clear, can be used as a pendant.  It can be customized according to the design that you want or need.  You can use words, photos, patterns, drawings, fabrics or anything that is flat and thin.  In order to have a glassy appeal, you can use a Diamond Glaze.

Come to think of it, this can be a nice gift, too.

Christmas Caroling in the Philippines

It is so funny to read a FB friend showing a version of different Christmas songs in his update status. It reminds me of the children that sing carols every after Simbang Gabi. And it goes like this:

PC Games Enslavement

PC Games are addictive I heard.  That is why I stayed away.  That is why my children were discouraged early on not to give so much attention even to those simple computer games when they were young.  Maybe that is why the addiction was not cultivated in them. Or perhaps these are not what hits their soft spots.  Each to his own.

It takes a lot to love PC Games.  One needs a headset, game pad, infrared mouse, and a lot more accessories to get the best of these games.  It definitely is an expensive enslavement.

The Old James Bond Movies

We are currently watching a James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only, starring Roger Moore.

HBO is having a marathon of James Bond movies.  I say, the old James Bond movies are boring!  The dialogues are drab, and the actions are drag.

The good things about the movies are the gorgeous girls and the beautiful locations.  The whole movie is so dragging that you can predict what will happen next.  It is astonishing that these James Bond movies became popular.

The Pierce Brosnan starrer James Bond movies are the opposite.  Add to the fact that I am a fan. :-D

An iPod is Different from an iPhone

The other day a friend went to the mall and immediately bought an iPhone as gift to his wife.  He had it delivered to their house.  The wife was so excited, and also the children.  When the unit came, his son exclaimed, "Pa, it is not an iPhone, it is ipod touch 32g!" So he rushed back to the mall that day and returned the item.  Good thing the store clerk still entertained him and tell him that the order will just be cancelled.

To differentiate, here are some facts to learn:

What is an iPod?

An iPod is a portable device that stores and plays audio files.  It can hold a lot of songs, from a few hundred to ten thousand.  It has flash memory that does not loose contents when the power is turned off.

What is an iPhone?

iPhone is Apples' first internet-enable.  It is a mobile phone, a wireless Internet device, and an iPod, in one. It is a phone with a multitouch screen allowing two finger touches and can be viewed in landscape or portrait mode.

I asked my friend afterwards, then why not replace the iPod with an iPhone.  He exclaimed that it is so expensive and not practical to have.  It can cost his wife's life, he further explained.

My Father, and the Adult Diapers

Honestly, before, I did not know that there are adult diapers.  Not until my father had to use them.

When he had a stroke, he went into a coma.   The muscular, strong, and loving person suddenly became feckless, not exactly knowing what was happening around, but I was sure he could still hear things.  His first day in coma showed a tear fell when I held his hand and told him, "Pa, I am here."

It was a far-fetched reality that my dependable father will one day be in diapers, adult diapers specifically, and that he will be rendered useless against an unexpected situation.  But he was there, lying, motionless, and almost like dead.

The adult diapers looked very big on him.  His scrawny features are like piles of bones and sagging flesh against it.  It does not really matter how absorbent the diapers are, or how protective, or odorless.  They cannot do anything to my father's abject condition.

Remembering a Leather Briefcase

During the holiday seasons, I cannot help but remember one Christmas when I received a leather briefcase from an aunt.  That time I was already in college and I do not see any need for me for to carry a briefcase.  Engineering students do not usually carry a lot of things in their bags.  Most of the time, I only carry a filler notebook, or a filler, depending on how many classes I have for a day, and definitely, I won't need a leather briefcase.  :-D

I remember how delighted my father was but I cannot tell him that the briefcase has no use to me.  It ended up being used by a sibling who's still in high school and was forced to use the briefcase.  We have no idea that the briefcase was one of those leading brands. We really did not care if what was given to us was stylish, durable, or elegant. We are so ignorant about fashion statements.  :-D  What can you expect from simple students who just want to live life simply?

How do you define funny?  What are funny t shirts?

Funny has a lot of meanings.

It basically means providing fun.  But this can be subjective.  Something that can be funny to one is not funny to another.

It can mean peculiar or odd.  This is when political correctness is not a necessity.  This isn't the goodie-goodie funny.  This is hard core funny.

As to funny shirts, do not be shocked if they offend you.  They can be funny to some.

How to Sleep in a Wintry Country

I could die in a country that has snow.  Snow will only be lovely to look at in pictures but not to experience it.  That is how I believe it.  I know that I will not like it no matter how others will say it will be only difficult during your first time.

That is why I wonder how people sleep in a wintry country.  How could one be warm and cozy and fall asleep soundly when it is very cold?

They say a heated blanket is the solution.  A heated blanket?? The thought made me uncomfortable.  But then again these blankets are made with low voltage making it safe to use.  It gives the warmth that is needed in a cold night.  Most of them are soft, water-proof and stain resistant.  They also come in many signs and options.

Even so, I believe it will not be easy for me.  I bet I will be only staying inside the house in a wintry country during winter except of course when I go to work.  It would be very hard not to work and not to move the body parts when it is cold.  I might get frozen.  :-D

Is Rene Skiing?

Rene was my office mate until last September this year.  He migrated to the US.  I saw his picture once in FB donning a winter cap.  It made me think and wonder if he had learned to ski already?  Would it be easy for him to learn? Will I see a picture of him with a snowboard rack on his vehicle?

It would be fun seeing him in a picture skiing.  I bet it would be an exciting activity for him.  While here in the Philippines, we will be content looking at his pics.

Even RVs Have Insurance

Recreational vehicles are not a common thing in the Philippines. A lot of Filipinos do not even know what it is. It is not meant to demean my fellowmen; I am just stating a fact.

Well, it is a vehicle that has a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom and a living room. They are used for vacations and camping that is why there is a need for an rv insurance. Here in the Philippines, only the very wealthy owns them. They are luxury here while in other countries they are necessities. The culture also has something to do with owning one, I guess.

Another Gift Idea for the (Big) Boys

The other day when we went shopping for Christmas gifts we saw the sales clerk trying to demo a remote controlled helicopter.  It was funny to see a helicopter moving to and fro when it should be flying!  :-D  It is also overpriced.

If you think of buying toys for the (big) boys, it must be the Nitro RC Cars that you must buy.  They are the fast and furious remote controlled cars.  If you want a Ferrari, there is one available.  The amazing detail and design will make any owner proud.  If you have the cash and you are ready to give this kind of a gift, you will not regret your decision.  It is a very nice Christmas gift for the (big) boys! :-D

If you are, what do you collect?

I know of some people who collects stamps and stones.  It makes me wonder why.  They say it is passion.  Some say it is addiction.  To add to the things that are collected,  coins are in the queue.  Some even buy morgan dollars.

The act of collection has long been including coins, currencies, memorabilia, jewelries and stamps.  Coin and bullion investment and trading were started decades ago.  They come in gold and silver at first then platinum and palladium were included later.

It really is amazing that there are people who are so passionate about these things.  Dealing become an art to make money.  I wonder though how much ROI is gained from these.

Some Men are A**holes

A man gave a beautiful laced dress to another man's wife.   They are said to be 'friends' because of a reason or another.  The apparel was designed backless and with a knot to keep the front of the dress.

The apparel was a gift from the sibling of the man.  The wife asked why he did not give it to his wife (though she was thinking that the apparel was not the size of the man's wife).  He blurted that his wife's udder is for him alone.  The wife was shocked and the man apologized immediately realizing his foul mouth.

Some men are a**holes.

This man who wants his wife's udder only for him (what husband would actually want to share his wife's breasts to others?) is also a man who fooled his wife not only once.  He demands ownership of her partner like what one does to a property but he is not exclusive to his wife.  Pathetic fool.

I can only smirk at the foolishness of the whole thing.  So patriarchal.  Birdbrained.

I am blessed, I believe, to have a husband that thinks differently.  In his condition, he is secured.  He makes me feel he trusts me.  He is proud of me.

Floor Mats for the Car

Each car has its own floor mat need.

Every time I see my own car floor mat, I am reminded to have the car washed.  My car's floor mat is not one of those mercury montego custom floor mats with advanced features.

My floor mat does not have that absolute interior protection.  It does not keep spills, dirt and grease out of my interior, protecting the carpet.  Oh, I forgot, I have no customizable carpet on it, too.

Better sell the car is what I think.  Not an option for now. Ours is a decrepit car but it serves its purpose still.

Dreaming to be a Restaurateur

I love food.   Food gives me comfort.  Food sustain the love inside our home.  It elevates our love for life.  Even outside the home, food becomes a medium for camaraderie.  It strengthens the bond with buddies.

This is why I dream of being a restaurateur.  The buffet or smörgåsbord type is what I wanted to have.  I will definitely pick my restaurant supplies myself.  I want my restaurant to be my own.

Handling and Storage

While inside a household store looking for gifts, one of the staff who were piling new stock of products accidentally loose hold of one item.  The sound was bad.  The staff simply shrugged as the others exclaimed.  He sort of dismissed the damaged item and said 'RTS' or return to supplier.

The store probably was saving money to even purchase a material handling equipment for this purpose.  Instead of the staff getting the items by hand from the destination, a cart or a lifting table could have avoided the breakage or the damage.

An organization always has to have handling and storage solutions or procedures.  It will be beneficial to consider these pieces of equipment as solutions.  The result will be satisfactory.

Love Your Woman with Flowers

Not with any flower but a rose.  As a line is saying, "When in doubt, send roses, because roses are always right."

I always love red roses.  A red rose means a lot of things like "I love you" or "Job well done" or "Congratulations".  It symbolizes love, beauty, courage and respect.  A single red rose specifically mean "I Love You".  The red rose personally mean for me the intense feeling of love.

The other color for the rose that I like is white.  It symbolizes purity, innocence, humility, youthfulness, to name only a few.

The combination of red and white roses signify unity.  This makes me remember someone who brought these roses one time for my daughter, a bunch of white and another bunch of red.

Do you know that a single rose of any color describes utmost devotion?  And thirteen roses given to a lady comes from a secret admirer?  I have not heard of this, have you?

Rhian Ramos: Lessons Learned

From The Internet Movie Database, Rhian Ramos is the niece of GMA Network's Assistant Vice President and head of the network's talent center.  She was born Rhian Denise Ramos Howell.  She is 9 months younger than my firstborn.  Very young, very, very young to be subjected to the kind of public embarrassment she is into right now.

My shock to the news of a video by the blabbermouth Mo Twister is definitely incomparable to the bombshell Rhian received upon learning about the video from a tweet.  I can almost feel the hurt and pain while she was narrating about it.

I do not usually pay attention to showbiz news but this one really affected me.  First, I have a daughter who is almost her age, though older, both very young.  Second, I am a parent and I cannot help but be disgusted and angry with the evil scheme of Mo Twister.  He had corrupted Rhian to the point of manipulating and coercing her.  He took advantage of her innocence and youth.  How I wished that these men like Mo Twister be put on a stake and be subjected to any of those torture methods being used in some countries.

I know I am reacting violently but these male creatures do not deserve anything good.  Their chauvinism to male dominance is sickening.  They do not deserve any understanding, and even sympathy.

It is undeniable that Rhian is partly to blame but with the age gap between them, it looked like she was beguiled while she said, "Hindi ako nakinig, eh. Because I just really liked him.  And I guess I was just being blind..."

What are the lessons learned?

• Any girl or woman should learn from this lesson.  Do not be fooled by anybody like Mo Twister.  Sweet words are nothing.  Some men will sweet-talk and later abuse.


• Listen to your parents, young girls, and listen well.  Like what Rhian realized, "I should've listened to my parents.  I should've listened to my family.  The reason why your family knows what's best for you is because they love you unconditionally." She said it all.


• Do not be afraid.  Dominant male psychos will try to do everything to stop you from leaving them.  They will surely threaten but do not be afraid especially if you know your family is always there for you.

Funny that I cannot get over the whole thing. I really, really hate Mo Twister from the start.  Let justice be served.

Eyelash Growth Product for Me

Do you want longer, darker and thicker lashes? That is the question that I will answer upfront. Do I want it?

It is a pretty idea to have thicker and longer lashes.  If someone will give me  eyelash growth products as Christmas gift, I will accept it with open arms.  Not because I badly need it.  I will try it out of curiosity.  In fact, I doubt if it will work for me because I am chink-eyed.

As I see it, these thick, dark, and long lashes work well with deep, wide lids.  I don't have them!  Most of the time actually people mistake me as Chinese because of the eyes.  No, I am 0.05% Spanish, is what I would like to answer. LOL

Anyway, back to the lashes.  It is kind of interesting to just grow them instead of putting false eyelashes, extensions, or mascara.  Imagine not being able to live normally by putting them on every morning before you go to work!  That would be very time-consuming.  So, if there is a technology that will make them grow, why not?

But it is not my priority actually.  It is not what I really wanted for this Christmas though if someone will give me one of those products, I'll gladly accept, as I've said. :-D

Gift Idea for Kids

If you are ready and willing, or if you have the cash :-D you can get backpacks for kids as Christmas gifts.  The children will surely love them.

If you have a long list of kids to give gifts this Christmas, and you are considering these backpacks, there is a way to save money.  Do not go buy the branded ones.  Instead, go find a manufacturer that will sell you the bags in discounted price.  That is if you get them wholesale.

After that, you can have them personalized and printed with cool stuffs and cartoon characters the children love.  Again, you have to look for someone that will do the printing.  At present, this is not a difficult thing to do.

What would you think is the character that will make a hit to the children?  I bet they're the Angry Birds.  Don't you agree?

Another Gift Idea for Him

Ray Bans are one of those gift ideas my husband will love.  The current price ranges from 50$ to 200$. Wow!

Ray Ban is a brand for those pairs of best selling sunglasses despite being pricey.  The reason probably is because of the varied designs that are comfortable and durable.  Their lenses are unique because they are polarized eliminating annoying glare, and adjusting to changing light conditions.

More than gift baskets, these pair of sunglasses will be favored more.  :-D  Most men (and women, too) would always want and desire for a pair.

Gift Basket for Him?

It's Christmas time once again.  Do you have something in mind for him already?

It is not a common thing here in the Philippines to give a gift basket for the husband, or for the male partner.  The gifts for men are usually packed in a box and/or wrapped simply.

My husband, for example, is a simple man.  Actually, I am not sure how he would react if I give a gift basket for him.  :-D Hmmm... let me guess.   He will exclaim, "What is this?!? You should not have spent much money for these things!"

But gift baskets are interesting.  The idea is unique and if I am going to give him a basket, I will have the following options:

• one with 10 pieces of undies, personal effects, hygiene products


• one with brownies and cakes


• one with assorted bottles of colognes and perfume


• one with a bottle of brandy with nuts and chips

Would you dare guess what he'll like the most?

Honestly, I am not an expert to discuss something about guitar pedals.  It took my interest to see something like a foot pedal where bands are assembled.  I have to Google it to know what it is.

Guitar pedals or guitar effect pedals are foot-operated levers, too.  You can see these foot pedals in operating machines, or in modifying the sound of pianos, organs or harps.

While I was googling it, I discovered that there are are many types that are designed for specific purposes.  Below is a list of these effects pedals:
