A Croc is Not a Crook

Got attracted to a message written at the back of a friend's t-shirt:

It is an insult to crocodiles when they are compared to unsavory characters like corrupt politicians, greedy businessmen and selfish athletes.

- Crocodile Farming Institute, Palawan

Satirical. But are the crocs better than the crooks? They are both cold-blooded. They are both predators.

This can be a reason:

Originally, the crooks were of the Homo Sapiens class, which are primates, but with a brain larger than any other. With a larger brain, they should function better, learn more quickly, or respond more appropriately to situations. To act like a lesser primate demean the Hominidae family, and the Crocodylidae family, which from their birth bore those innate characteristics of being predators, and being cold-blooded, too. And here you are, humans, trying to be one, without the need but with greed. You are surely insulting their family and class.

  1. hmmmnnn... I really thought crocodiles are considered as predators. But then again, I still get confused with the difference between a crocodile and an alligator.

  6. I would have thought that you are a biologist.. except that you wrote the scientific name wrongly... it should be Homo sapiens... sapiens starts with a small letter.

  8. That's a funny sign from the crocodile farm. :) At least the crocs don't steal from us. And they don't pretend to be respectable.

  9. If only crocs could talk. hahaha.
Beware to all crooks, don't go near a croc or it might bite ur ass for maligning their animal dignity.

  10. oo ngatoe. kaya siguro sila galit ang mga taga farm if they are compared to those crooks.

yes, they should be careful not to go near them, malaya ha ha

  11. I think the comparison has to do with the crocs' way of gobbling up their prey. Crocs are very stealthy and swallow up their prey completely. Crooks work in the same way . They bleed you dry to the bone.

  12. but it is a natural characteristic of a croc to behave that way, bw. for humans, it is unusual.

  13. I think it has something to do with the crocodile's tears. Crocs and gators shed tears whenever they shut their mouths. Croc's mouth by the way is the weakest of its body parts when it is closed. You can hold it shut using a single rubber band actually.

  14. And yeah, about the tears, since they shed them whenever they close their jaws, they look like as if they're crying once they're chewing their prey.

  15. hi bingskee,

the basic anatomical difference between a croc and a 'gator is that the croc has a rounded lower and upper jaw while the gators' are pointed.

    i hope that helps .

    thanks,
