Coffee Please!

(written 9:30 am, this morning)
Today I feel so sluggish. And I don’t know the reason why. I slept earlier than the other late nights. I had my breakfast which consists of a hard-boiled egg, kutsinta with grated coconut and coffee.

I wanted to suspect my monthly period which is almost through. But PMS or premenstrual syndrome always comes before a period (that’s why it is has a prefix pre-). I wonder if there is another PMS which defines postmenstrual syndrome. And I am not nearing the climacteric period yet!

Then I thought I might just need another cup of coffee. I just love coffee and it is an effective stimulant for me – anything between soluble and decaffeinated. Despite the issues (that were not substantiated) about coffee, I go on with this caffeine-filled drink. It is really a drink that I cannot go without in a day.

True, I am a coffee lover but I am not the type who goes to coffee shops regularly to have a sip. Why go to a coffee shop when it can be available at home or in the office? Being a practical person (but not tightfisted), I think I can enjoy simple coffee made at home, or in the office. This is not saying I have anything against coffee shops. The simplicity, affordability and convenience really count for me.

The day is nearing its quarter now… gotta move and be on the go. Coffee please, Mo!

the beauty of taking morning coffee, with a friend or husband/wife coffee conversation is that coffee stimulates and crystalize your uncensored thoughts and unshackled your freedom to think....napalalim yata...dito sa toronto ang pinakagusto ko yong umiinom ng kape habang nag-iisnow...nag-aagaw ang init at lamig sa yong lalamunan at bibig...

  6. Coffee, that's the stuff. Love the smell of fresh brewed coffee, with cream and sugar, though it's not what I would call a "relaxing" drink. Lately been drinking tea...maybe earl grey, mint, or camomile. Supposedly soothes the nerves, even though tea has caffeine too....

Its not just the beverage...sometimes its also the company. The dynamic exchange of ideas can really heighten the experience of a favorite beverage.

Nothing quite like a shot of caffeine in the morning, in whatever form, to "free your mind..." for the challenges the lay ahead...

  8. @techguy - 'kaw talaga kung saan saan napupunta ang isip...hmmm... i usually drink my coffee alone in the morning. tulog pa si Papsie nun. then i'll take a bath. when i am at the office, i usually take another cup in the morning break, alone again then with friends in the afternoon break wherein i show my prowess (in what??) and tell stories. i am good in telling jokes - that's the prowess ha ha ha

@ronaldallan - i used to like tea, green tea, but it makes my stomach ache (i dont know why). but it has good effects on me though. i love coffee in the morning to 'wake me up'...

@silentmode_v2 - i drink coffee a lot when i dont like to eat too much and when there is nothing to eat he he

  9. Hi Bing,
Thank you for dropping by sa aking munting blogspot. And you know what, pareho tayong COFFEE ADDICT!! errr, COFFEE LOVER. My day will never be complete without it. Kahit sa pagtulog, coffee pa rin. Sa office, my boss knows na without coffee, I'd be brain-dead so he lets me have my cup before doing any major project...he he he good boss or good excuse?

  10. Sorry ha, I only drink coffee to cure my hangovers. Not that I frequently drink until drunk. Or not anymore. But that's another story.

Before I learned how to drink. I heard in those info ads in the now-defunct Clark FEN-P that coffee does not cure drunkenness. Experience has taught me otherwise... Hence, I love coffee, with a LOT of sugar and creme...

    regards and more power Bing!

  12. i am not a coffee enthusiast. we don't even have coffee at home but i drink coffee at cafes with some friends for socialization (my favorite is the durian-flavored coffee in davao. you should try this when you're in town) and this rarely happens because most of my friends are beer drinkers. and i'm a certified 'beer addict". hehe

  17. Bing,

Not to sound sexist, ha? Pero may mga babaeng ganyan ang effect ng coffee sa inuman. Believe me. I used to live with one. And my soon-to-be ex-wife has the same complaints on her "sprees."

  18. Off topic, pero dadag (dis)info lang about kape...Ang kape daw nakakanerbyos at ang gatas naman nagpapalakas...pag-pinaghalo mo...lalakas nerbyos mo...hehehe kaya ako kape lang talaga

    ReplyDelete
  19. ako po hindi natutong uminom ng kape...hehe :D

but yes, coffee or not, i'd go for the simple, homegrown stuff myself. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. @punzi - some men complain about that effect, too. hindi naman talaga ako lumalabas para lang uminom, pumzi. sa bahay lang, madalas, and with my hubby.

@sam - off topic din, me kasabihan pag sobrang lakas ng loob ng isang tao - "hindi siguro yan umiinom ng kape" - he he

@corsarius - milk din? like ka webspy and teachersol?

  21. Me literally gropes to the coffee station at the start of my work day. Brewed , never instant - keeps it fresh and natural. A little milk, a little sugar. Not addicted or anything except that my brain cells remain dormant until I get charged with cup - small lang namam. I marvel at those guys who take the xlarge cups that look like it could fill half the ice bucket. If I down 2 of those I might pass out!

Three cups a day or probably 4 in winter time. Yeah, coffee definitely makes my day.

  22. @bw - i dont take big gulps, too. like you, i sip coffee 3x a day. but sometimes 5 a day. i tried to stop drinking coffee once because of a news of its damaging effects, but i did not succeed and succumb to coffee's alluring aroma ha ha

  23. Hi Bing!

I am not much of a coffee drinker, but I LOVE Krispy Kreme's hot mocha, which I take with a shot of caramel.

I do drink coffee though, when I need to stay awake. At home, I use Gevalia, although I find I have to dilute it with hot milk and cocoa to make it more "mocha-ish"

I actually have a semi-technical question: was your template provided by Blogger and how did you get it? I have come across this template elsewhere, and I think my stepdad (who LOVES sailing) would like it for his blog. I was hoping to convert his template in time for Father's Day. I tried looking at the templates Blogger is currently offering, but I didn't see this design there.

Thanks for the prompt response to my comment. Yes, I would be honored to be added to your links. BTW, I have already linked your blog under my Philippine links.

  26. I'm a coffee lover too...before but I toned down. First thing I did when I arrived at the office was fix myself a glass (more like a flower vase according to my co-workers) of cold coffee. Yes, masarap ang choco with coffee. Add whipped cream to it, Yum! My coworkers would not talk to me until I have had my coffee because I was grouchy until then. I drank 2-6 big glasses a day and I started having palpitations so now I drink only 1 cup if not at all of hot coffee.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ei Patrice! 2-6 big glasses??? palpitation nga ang equivalent niyan. mas masarap ang hot coffee for me, nakakagising!

  28. hehe..big kasi sabi nila para daw flower vase yung baso ko. Actually para siyang yung grande ng starbucks. LOL.
