The Great Spirit

Have you come across this message?
magnanimity
A cousin lawyer sent this to me via text. It is posted on the wall of my office where visitors could take a look each time they visit. Until now, it serves as an inspiration when my spirit insists on being a ‘poor spirit’.

Nowadays, people almost everywhere feel that it is pointless to work hard. Tough times drain what hope is there left in each soul. So, almost everybody think of gaining the easiest way, and without exerting that much effort. Anyway, some people get much without really working hard, and some people get less even working hard. It is a sad fact, but true.

But I want to have that ‘Great Spirit’ always. I want to have high ideals that will mirror the legacy to my children and to others, though indirectly. I want to be magnanimous in my success and in my defeat. That is why I work, at present, even if everybody seems not to be working, I perform even if everybody around me freezes, and I stay tuned with my working principles even if everybody is uncooperative. Except for instances where the Enemy defeats the Great Spirit in me and allows the poor spirit to reign.

The Great Spirit always surface from hopelessness in my case. It also comes in the most agonizing times, or when troubles come upon me, or if hurt by the most distasteful and unpleasant experiences. It is, I believe, a virtue from God, as God is Himself the source of all grace.

Great Spirit, I summon thee!

  1. People who truly love their work seem to be rare nowadays. If I were your employer, you're promoted, ngayon na Bing. :-)

  6. The Great Spirit. I like that. So that's what keeps us going when everything crashes and burns around us. Let me summon it from time to time, then :D Thanks for this enlightening post, ma'am!
