In almost every sleep, I dream. Even during short naps in the afternoon, I also dream. Most of them are about people and the way I feel towards them.
There are times I would wake up crying because of a dream about someone who is dying, or inside a casket. This someone has the face of another person that is also closely related to me. And I wake up crying because of the pain that I will never see them both.
Another dream that makes me cry is when Papsie ignores me in a dream because he was with a pretty woman and when I try to talk to him, he would scowl at me. The Papsie in my dream is always a total opposite of my husband.
I also dream of people that I hate most, or those that I am annoyed with. But what is odd about these dreams is that they are very respectful, decent or nice people. We go along well in my dreams. While I dislike them, I like the feeling these kinds of dream give me.
I dream of impossibilities, too, that range from paranormal moving chairs to becoming a popular person. I talk to doors that speak where we can only see them in magical fairy tale movies. I sign my own books while people queue and I was really looking good as an accomplished writer. I see myself riding high, all smiles.
But with these dreams, I like the one in which I make love intensely the most. The physical connection seemed so real that I always wake up with flushes, perspiring, and my heart pounding. Feels good, nonetheless.
It makes me wonder why dreams occur even if there are already scientific explanations to it. Are they purely consequences or do they have meanings at all? Are they realities that are bound to happen, or metaphors that have to be deciphered to give warning or lessons?
I look like not so much of myself today because of a dream.
Dreams are the medium in which our subconcious talks to us. It shows us our deepest wishes and fears. :-)
ReplyDeletebtw, luv the new template. :-)
ReplyDeletei think so, too, single. thanks for appreciating the new template. :-P
ReplyDeletegot a lot of dreams too,
ReplyDeleteand most of them
are recurring.
sometimes they have a new plot
parang story
different scene and places
but the same people
it's not recurring anymore
it's like your watching yourself
in an unending teledrama
nararanasan mo ba yun?
iniisip ko lang
parang that holds me back.
pwede na ba kong co-author ng blog mo?
lol!
I really like the new theme, so clean and fresh.
ReplyDelete7 out of 10 dreams I have is about my highschool years and like the "what if i did that" sort of thing. It involves my gf and close friends.
I consulted my grandma who's quite the expert at Chinese mysticism, she said I still carry with me a lot of my emotional baggages from highschool.
I asked her if this was bad, she said only if I will cling to the bags for the rest of my life.
Kinda what Sid said in Ice Age 2, "You have to let go of the past so you could have a future."
Later today, I'll post something about the scientific explanation about dreams I learned from biology and psychology.
Until then, keep on dreaming!

hmm... pag-iisipan ko, melai he he about your dreams that hold you back, it's possible if those dreams are really what hold you back in real life. i think dreams are manifestations, too.
ReplyDeletethank, jhay. that would be nice - a scientific explanation, i have posted one before in Filipino - in my Sa Aming Wika blog.
Bing, dreams are strange, no? I have this dream that had been recurring for years - about my family (almost always my Nanay) and me trying to escape from the Japanese soldiers. I was born way after World War II but I loved listening to war stories when I was younger. I don't know why the same dream would recur. But it stopped coming about two or three years ago. Now I wonder why.
ReplyDeletei know what you mean about dreams that can feel so real! One time i dreamt i won lotto! I was rich and happy and everything felt so good. Then i woke up. Getting back to reality was so harsh it made me a bit sick. I got depressed coz i couldn't get back to that really nice dream!
ReplyDeletereally strange, bugs! and stranger still why it stopped suddenly.
ReplyDeletewould feel so sorry, too, if that happened to me, will. imagine being a millionaire and be back to old self in a snap!
Wet dreams.. are they solely a male phenomenon?
ReplyDeleteSorry, not wet dreams
ReplyDeletePardon my slightly eyebrow-raising title, and to set the record straight, I have never ever had one before. I am, on the other hand, will share some insights into why we dream or how our dreams come to be.
I was always fascinated about dreams, why we h...
San ko makikita yung Sa Aming Wika Blog para makapagcompare notes tayo tungkol sa paliwanag ng kung bakit o paano tayo nananaginip. :)
ReplyDeleteyes, i think so, bw. wet dreams are uncontrolled ejaculation, right?
ReplyDeletehey, jhay. hanapin ko pa. that is a nice title, a! catchy. :-P
ReplyDeleteHello Bing! I'm quite interested with this topic. I had a dream about KD's father's death. I saw the funeral in my dream. I didn't tell him then cause I don't want to be misinterpreted . Three days after, we received a call from the Phillipines. My father in law had a heart attack and he's gone. Was it a coincidence?
ReplyDeletewish i knew too what our dreams mean....
ReplyDeletehope you're all settled in your new bloghome... :)
Flying is, perhaps, the best dream there is. I had such a dream: flying at night, the friction of the cool wind against my skin. My body sense a free soul cutting through the dark skies, the glittering stars around me, city lights in a faint glow, flooding spots of human testaments below. What an incredible experience! An excitement I could hardly contain fill my chest, eager to burst in reluctant celebration. Alas, it is but a momentary elation, maybe a torment for mere humans, a power only super beings can poses.
ReplyDeleteIn dreams I can be, but can’t know what I will be. When at sleep, the rapid eye movement seeks frantically, what it finds is what we become, at least until the cock cockles time.
agree with you, dreaming of making-love is the best ... but worst kung bitin. yun bang malapit na tapos biglang may gigising sa yo. kakainis yon! gusto mong matulog ulit at ipagpatuloy ang iyong panaginip.
ReplyDeleteI'm not the average here. I don't have dreams that often and I don't think I've had a vivid dream like the ones described here.
ReplyDeleteat least you remember them... forgotten dreams mean repressed emotions or suppressed thoughts...
ReplyDeletehi, ann! i don't know. maybe you have ESP thru your dreams?
ReplyDeleteit would be a very pleasant experience to know at least some, di ba, stranger?
hi, leno! i like that. indeed, it is such an incredible even if one is afraid of heights! how i wish we can become what are dreams tell.
thanks, leno, for sharing your thoughts. they are nice to read. hope to read from you again!
kahit gustuhin mo, KU, di na babalik ang nakaraang panaginip pag pinilit mo pang matulog uli. abang ka na lang uli ng susunod na araw he he :-P
baka nagkataon lang, melai? o may ESP ka rin?
is it really, monmon? that is quite informative.
erratum: to leno it is such an incredible 'dream' and what 'our' dreams tell. i think the brandy's having that effect already :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I dream that I dream in my dream. Weird.
ReplyDeletethat happened to me, too, nico. and i know that i was dreaming..
ReplyDeletewhen I was way younger i dreamed a lot... adventures pa yung iba... but i rarely have dreams now.. is that good or is that bad?
ReplyDeletei dont know, beth, but it's puzzling why you seldom dream now. maybe you dream but you don't remember.
